Chat & Chew
At this time there will not be Chat & Chew for the 2021-22 school year. We will reassess as the year continues!
Chat & Chew is a PTO sponsored book club for children in second through fifth grade. This optional program meets 4 times a year during lunch (2 times a year for 2nd grade). Groups consist of about 8 children and 2 adult volunteers. Children are asked to bring a sack lunch from home.
Chat & Chew is a commitment for both students and parents. Your child needs to have their assigned book read and be ready to participate when it is their Chat & Chew day. Children should not attend if they have not read the book and may eat lunch in the cafeteria that day.
If you are interested in volunteering to lead a Chat & Chew group, check the appropriate box on the registration form.
You will need to obtain the books independently. We recommend ordering them early so they will be in stock and ready when your child needs them. You are welcome to borrow from the library or past readers, as well.
Once you have obtained the books we highly recommend you give your child the first book to read then tuck the others away in a safe place until the next Chat & Chew.
